THE JOB

Science Content Developer 

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced science educator and curriculum developer to join our team and play a crucial role in the development of science content, both in VR and in accompanying materials. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science education, extensive knowledge of K-12 science standards, and the ability to think spatially and creatively when designing learning experiences. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design new science modules in VR :
    • Research, design, scope, and script standards-aligned science learning experiences
    • Collaborate with content leaders, product managers, engineers, and artists through an iterative development process 
  • Review and refine existing science content: 
    • Fully own the content and standards alignment of all science modules 
    • Make recommendations for changes as needed 
  • Develop, refine, and update curriculum materials:
    • Create and adjust multimedia materials for teacher and student use 
  • Advocate for content integrity, module quality, and continuous improvement:
    • Fully own and advocate for the accuracy and developmental appropriateness of each science module 
    • Embrace the iterative nature of high-quality content development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
    • Work closely with content developers, engineers, and professional learning to ensure clarity and alignment
    • Communicate frequently and effectively 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Commitment to transforming and reimagining STEM education
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or in Education
  • At least 5 years of experience as a science teacher, with a preference for experience in 6-12 
  • At least 2 years of experience as a science leader and/or curriculum developer 
  • Proven experience in curriculum writing and design 
  • Deep understanding of K-12 NGSS and science standards across multiple US states 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for explaining complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely 
  • Ability to think spatially and creatively about science concepts 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional time management skills; ability to prioritize and handle concurrent projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to flexibly meet across time zones (EST and PST)

NICE TO HAVES

  • Familiarity with VR hardware and software, such as Pico, Quest, or similar platforms
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Full-time role, fully remote or hybrid (if based near our San Francisco office)
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
